Our Vision
Brailsford Church of England Primary School aims to have;

Our Mission Statement
The mission of Brailsford C of E Primary School is to provide a safe, secure, family orientated environment enabling all children to achieve their full potential, nurturing their growth educationally, spiritually, morally and physically. The Federation will provide a broad range of opportunities, developing confident, well rounded individuals with a firm grounding in core subjects, and also a wide range of knowledge. They will develop inquisitive minds, seeking to learn beyond the curriculum, being prepared for their next steps in life and education with a lifelong love for learning.
The School will work to ensure children are happy, feel valued, loved, respected, and guide them to show the same care to others. All children in the Federation matter, and their different gifts and skills will be recognised and celebrated.
The bedrock of our school is our Christian ethos that is embedded throughout all that we do, and the School continues to build on the foundations already present through close connections with the Church and our communities.
The School is committed to delivering the highest quality teaching, and to foster an environment where staff feel valued, happy and passionate to make a difference to the children in their care. The School will support staff to develop and grow to their full potential.
The school will continue to work together, and will develop a wider network of collaboration to share best practice, constantly striving to drive improvement that will benefit the children in our organisation and in other schools.
We build supportive relationships with our parents and carers so that they feel confident to entrust their children to our care.
Our School will be a strong pillar of the communities it serves. We will encourage the children to appreciate and embrace the cultural diversity of the wider community that they will experience throughout their lives.
Theological Rationale
Brailsford Church of England Primary School is rooted in the Christian faith, drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our vision is grounded in the belief that every member of our school community is loved by God and called to flourish. Through a nurturing and inclusive environment, we seek to support children in becoming confident learners, compassionate individuals, and responsible citizens who positively contribute to the world around them.
At the heart of our Christian foundation is the belief that every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This understanding shapes the way we value and care for one another, recognising the unique worth, gifts, and potential within every child. As a result, we strive to create a school where all children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to develop into the people God created them to be.
Our commitment to excellent education is rooted in the biblical call to seek wisdom, understanding, and truth (Proverbs 4:7). We believe that learning is a gift from God and that every child should be given opportunities to discover and develop their talents. Success at Brailsford is therefore understood in a holistic way, encompassing academic achievement, spiritual growth, emotional well-being, creativity, and character development.
Jesus teaches us to love God and love our neighbour (Mark 12:30–31). These commandments underpin our relationships and decision-making throughout school life. We seek to nurture values such as kindness, respect, forgiveness, courage, perseverance, and compassion, enabling children to build positive relationships and make wise choices. Through these values, pupils learn that true flourishing comes not only from personal success but also from serving and caring for others.
The example of Jesus provides a model for how we live together as a community. His compassion for those in need, his willingness to serve others, and his message of hope encourage us to foster an environment where every child is supported to grow in confidence and resilience. We believe that challenges can be opportunities for growth and that, through faith and perseverance, children can develop the strength and character needed to navigate life’s journey.
Worship, prayer, and reflection are integral to life at Brailsford. Collective worship provides opportunities for children to explore Christian beliefs and values, reflect on their own experiences, and develop spiritually. We encourage children to ask questions about faith, meaning, and purpose while respecting the beliefs and backgrounds of others. In doing so, we create a culture of openness, curiosity, and mutual respect.
As a Church of England school, we value our partnerships with families, the local church, and the wider community. Together, we seek to live out Christ’s call to “love one another” (John 15:12), creating a supportive and welcoming environment where everyone can flourish.
In summary, the theological foundation of Brailsford Church of England Primary School is rooted in the Christian belief that all people are loved by God and called to live life in all its fullness (John 10:10). Guided by faith, hope, and love, we seek to nurture children who grow in wisdom, character, and confidence, enabling them to flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually throughout their lives.
Our Christian Values
We are committed to nurturing our children’s spiritual and moral development through the teaching of Christian values. Each month, we focus on a different core value—such as kindness, forgiveness, honesty, or perseverance—exploring its meaning through stories, worship, and everyday school life. Children are encouraged to live out these values in their actions and interactions with others.
To celebrate their efforts, we award the Values Cup each month to pupils who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to embodying that month’s value. This tradition helps to inspire and motivate our children to grow in character and reflect the love and teachings of Jesus Christ in all they do.
